DEEP DISH
GEORGE IS ON
POSITIVA

It’s seven years since Deep Dish made their excellent ‘Junk Science’ debut, and expectations have built massively for the follow-up. New singer Anousheh helps them continue catering for the commercial dancefloor in the singles ‘Flashdance’ and ‘Say Hello’, but falls short of the mark in ‘Awake Enough’. Richard Morel, meanwhile, secures some wonderfully moody contributions to ‘Everybody’s Wearing My Head’ and the driving house of ‘Sacramento’. More striking than all, though, is Stevie Nicks’ appearance on the atmospheric cover of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Dreams’, with vocals specially recorded for the occasion. ‘George’ is a decent album, taking in chilled downtempo reductions to complement the house, which is pretty much top drawer.
