It’s my Mom’s favorite records, and she plays it forever.

4. “Turn Up The Bass” – Tyree feat Kool Rock Steady – DJ International Records

This was the point when I started in believing in my projects.

 

5. “Hardcore Hip House” – Tyree – DJ International Records

At this stage in my life “Hip House ” was being born and I wanted to see if I could carry a song on my own.

 

6.  “Essence Of A Dream” – Risque II – Stride Records

It was the deepest House record that I had at that time.

 

7.  “For You” – Ten City – Atlantic Records

One of the best House songs ever written.

 

8.  “Move Your Body” – Marshall Jefferson – Trax Records

Myself, Hugo H, and Mike Dunn were the VERY FIRST (!!!!) people to play this song before the rest of the world even knew about or even heard it in Chicago, I’m talkin about before the vocals were even on the demo!!!!

9.  “Thank God It’s Friday” – R. Kelly – Jive Records

This record reminds me of the other side of Chicago Black Music Culture, ‘Steppin’.

 

10.  “Raw” – Big Daddy Kane – Cold Chillin Records

This is the song that made me wanna be an MC.
