Hard-fi
Cash Machine (Roots Manuva remix)
Atlantic

When I saw Hard-Fi play live this August they wowed the crowd with a dub-reggae vs guitar-noise version of Seven Nation Army. So it is not entirely without surprise that the talents of Roots Manuva have been summoned to sonically carve-up their latest 7″.
And boy has he garbled the catchy suburban dance-rock of the original. By adding large drops of acid, simmering the skanky guitar, stirring in congas and shoving the bulk of sounds from the original through some terrifyingly trippy fx, the vibe drizzles your brain with hydroponic fuzziness. The sound-scape is then seasoned with the patented Roots Manuva delay-drenched sonic chimes and all-in-all, it spanks the arse of the recent output from Lee Perry and the Mad Professor. You need this, it’s gold-seal quality.
