Based in London’s East End, the Infadels aren’t up their own arses Hoxton wankers with fashion designer names, not on your nelly, in fact they’re let’s have a good time street urchins that’ve got it sussed, pulling in Jagz Kooner & Hugo Nicholson to bring out the dynamics of their feel good & powerful electro tinged funky anthemic rock that’s great to sing & dance to. ‘We Are Not The Infadels’ kicks off with the bombastic ‘Love Like Semtex’ followed by live set opener & current single ‘Can’t Get Enough’. Next is the first of what’s got to be 2 future singles, ‘Topboy’ has got the style & energy of The Specials with lyrics about two Herbets having a scrap over who’s the daddy of their council estate, then in comes the excellent ‘Girl That Speaks No Words’, which pulses & glides on soaring melodies with attitude & bundles of swagger, like taking an exhilarating fairground ride with Primal Scream, Death In Vegas & New Order. ‘Jagger 67’ is also here alongside another corker ‘Give Yourself To Me’ (the 3 Mobile jellyfish ad). I know 2006 has only just started, but this is gonna be one of the party albums of the year, & it’s already getting me extremely excited about the festival season.
