Third album from Nostalgia 77 and, as hinted at with his ‘The Garden’ long player, it finds him firmly rooted in deep, almost spiritual jazz territory, although still with an occasional nod to his hip-hop, funk and soul roots. If you are familiar with his previous material, then you won’t need much further encouragement. All of the tracks were recorded live and fully demonstrate this guy’s talent and feel for sound, be it snapping drums and bass, or deeper material. Plus, as an added bonus, you get ‘The Hope Suite Parts 1, 2 & 3’ in its full majestic glory (this was only available on vinyl previously). Awesome re-definitions of modern funk-based jazz.
