BAREFOOT
IT’S LIKE THAT / HIDEAWAY
ONE TWO

Barefoot’s self titled debut album of classic club covers, has already been Album Of The Week in this ‘ere rag, so it should come as no surprise to you, that the two cuts that make this, the double A-sided debut single, something well worth shouting about. Run DMC’s hip hop anthem ‘It’s Like That’ gets reworked into funky 60’s bubblegum pop, that wouldn’t sound out of place on the soundtrack to ‘Sweet Charity’. While over on the flip Delacy’s house anthem ‘Hideaway’, is done like you’re hearing the song for the first time, as Sam Obernik & Tommy D turn it into a soulful piano & strings led tear jerker. ‘I’m an independent woman, I don’t need no man to take care of me, can nobody take on my problems, coz I supply my own security, see I need to hi hi hi hideaway, don’t make me runaway’. This could be a weepy that stays at number 1 for weeks.
