Richard Sen & Neil Beatnik aka Padded Cell, have pulled in Nick Avinit for a spot of live bass, and with regard to get you lot bouncing off walls again. Right from the opening bass & drums, ‘Are You Anywhere’ transports you to the druggy disco where Chicken Lips & The Idjut Boys hang out, and a whole bunch of musicians get the dub treatment, as they veer off into one amongst the drifting effects, swirling over a relentless post punk rhythm. On the flip ‘Konkorde Lafayette’ takes a similar route, bringing earthy percussion, delayed key riffs & a few subtle back in the day samples to the mix. A nice double header for smokers on the floor.
