UP BUSTLE & OUT
CITY BREAKERS
COLLISION

Up Bustle & Out have pulled in a whole host of guest musicians, vocalists & remixers to play on & play around with the 17 cuts here. The opening title track ‘City Breakers’ features Ras Jabulani, laying down some cultural poetry over skanking dubbed out rhythms. The tempo gets bumped up a few paces for ‘Dance Your Troubles Away’, as Jamaican toaster DJ Mexican spreads feel good vibes over rude boy shuffles & horn riffs. ‘Bob Your Head’ takes us back to Up Bustle & Out’s Ninja Tune days, with cut up breaks, flamenco strumming & MC Blaze delivering a mighty fine performance. As per usual with an Up Bustle & Out album, there’s a melting pot of urban styles & influences, all running into each other & then worked through the echo chamber. ‘City Breakers’ is as much the soundtrack to an all night session in a smoke filled lounge, as it is to a rum soaked BBQ on a sunny afternoon.
