Although difficult to describe it’s relatively easy to spot a Stereolab record within seconds, and the latest album from the prolific band is no different. Although ‘Fab Four Suture’ may hint at Beatledom in the title it is in reality a continuation of their sound, slightly dreamy vocals and hazy textures balanced with upbeat percussion and instrumental hooks. The harmonious (and unpronounceable!) ‘Kyberneticka Babicka Part 1’ is a treat to start with, and the sprightly ‘Get A Shot of the Refrigerator’ is typical of their breezy approach to pop. Their many fans will love it – no need to change just yet!
