Another chance to enjoy the tango stylings of Philippe Cohen Solal, Christoph Muller and Eduardo Makaroff, though here they’re joined by the alluring vocals of Cristina Villalonga. She makes her tracks come alive, particularly the languid opener ‘Amor Porteno’ and the wonderful ‘Celos’, rich and lazy in texture. Throughout the orchestrations are luminous and sound much better in a more acoustic form as they are here. This makes the electronic tracks sound a bit thick in comparison, but that’s a small quibble when what we’ve got is a really lush album, a joy to listen to.
