Is a new imprint from Norway’s Telle Records, the stable that launched Annie & Royksopp, and they’ve chosen Isle Of Wight based Shakes to launch it, with their debut release ‘Sister Self Doubt’. And if that’s not enough to make your ears twitch, thee spotters record emporium Rough Trade have also chosen Shakes, to launch their new digital download service. So who are Shakes? Well, they are brothers Matt & Darren Farrow, who’ve both been in various bands over the years, but it wasn’t until they started working together on their own stuff, that the bright spark ignited, producing each others vocals over raw jackin‚ grooves with abrasive riffs that’ve got a rock’n’rave attitude. If you’re into Radio 4 & LCD Soundsystem then Shakes will be right up your Strasse, they sound like the real deal, it’s hot and steamy druggy club sleaze all the way.
