The Morning After Girls are an Australian gang, that sound like they drop LSD in the blazing sunshine, whilst hanging out & looking cool. As soon as ‘Run For Our Lives’ hit’s the deck, a whole host of your favourite psychedelic rockers flash through your head, including The Dandy Warhols & The Brian Jonestown Massacre. ‘Straight Thru You’ comes over like The Byrds getting strung out with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and the closing ‘Lazy Greys (Woxy Acoustic Session)’, leaves us feeling skunked out with Spacemen 3 in a Florida swamp. If the live reviews & this single is anything to go by, The Morning After Girls are going to be huge. Their debut album ‘Shadows Evolve’ is due at the end of June. Watch this space.
