Not dance as such, but definitely something to consider for the early hours. This is Mojave 3’s fifth album and finds them striking out in a more popular direction. Traces of their old style remain in the gorgeously slow burning ‘Big Star Baby’, where Rachel Goswell’s backing vocals come into their own. The poppier stuff, typified by ‘Puzzles Like You’ and ‘Breaking The Ice’, is heady and uplifting. Meanwhile traces of lo-fidelity country can be found round the edges, giving the feeling of a hot, dusty summer’s day. Perfect kick-back material.
