We were all impressed by Amp Fiddlers ability to sound a bit like Marvin Gaye and Al green, well this time round he’s doffing a cap to Billy Paul and Terry Callier, soulfully crooning over lush rhythms and melody, complete with shimmering strings and the whole shebang, oozing haze over the tarmac on the inner city streets. ‘Right Where You Are’ comes with an abundance of remixes, Tom Middleton is up first delivering a couple of skippy bouncers and a deep one, all in the name of house. 2AM‚s Jay Singh is up next with a dancehall, reggaeton, crunk hybrid, which is as mad as a bag of badgers, and is set to soundtrack this year’s carnival as well as the more adventurous clubs and airwaves. Last but not least Hot Chip gives Amp Fiddler an electro going over, which is a sparse & spooky affair. ‘Rright Where You Are’ is another feather in the credibility cap.
