Whereas many electro-kids’ bands struggle to make a lasting impression, Lo-Fi-Fnk instantly stands out thanks to its, fun and story-telling, juvenile disco-pop. Like The Similou (‘All This Love’, one of this summer’s unashamed true pop hit), another exciting Swedish duo and only the tip of the Scandinavian iceberg, Leo Drougge and August Hellsing exude an irresistible fresh spirit. Spontaneous, sometimes clumsy and yet more sophisticated than it seems on first listen, their original sound includes singing, rapping, shouting and last but not least a too rare yet addictive musicality. Inspired it seems by the eternal grace of legends such as Daft Punk, New Order and Phoenix, you already sense that Lo-Fi-Fnk are set for big things.
