South London outfit The Maccabees are set to release a limited edition single, before they fully let rip with their debut album in the new year on their new label Fiction. This version of ‘Precious Time’ was recorded on a Steve Lamacq session, and can only be ordered through The Maccabees Myspace page, or at one of their gigs. Its a fantastic song with singer Orlando Weeks‚ distinctive lyrics riding on a bed of jangly guitars and speed drumming, imagine an English version of The Strokes and you’re sort of heading in the right direction. ‘Precious Time’ comes backed with a great set of remixes of ‘X-Ray Vision’, from Filthy Dukes, South Central and Luke Smith, which out Cure The Cure. 2007 is shaping up very nicely for The Maccabees.
