The Voom Blooms certainly made a big splash and left a lasting impression with their debut single ‘Politics & Cigarettes’, and the follow up well and truly keeps the party rockin’. ‘Anna’ comes on like a fresh sounding Strokes with a sing-a-long feel good chorus to die for, you can just see the whole mosh pit, disco or front room all in unison ‘Now that Anna’s my darling we just dance all night’. Over on the flip you’ll find the even better ‘Models Of Soho’ which rides on a punky skank and eerie guitars, with more than a doff of a cap to The Members, The Specials and The Clash, as George sarcastically leers ‘Coz now I gotta go, oh back to the models of Soho’. The Voom Blooms do exciting stuff, can’t wait to hear their debut album.
