A name once associated with a famous London club night now finds itself launching a new record imprint, dedicated to the same ethos of undergound soul, jazz and beats. This first release is from Swedish singer Paul Mac Innes who – along with his recording partner, T.B.O.I – create two gorgeous mellow songs. Stylistically, the reference is the classic sounds of labels like Stones Throw, Philly artists like The Roots and Jill Scott, but given an individual reading and making their own classic soul science. “What You Do” particularly will easily win you over with it’s relaxed charm.
