Deacon Blue’s Glaswegian country-rock was always way too M.O.R. to be hailed as anything else than uncool, yet twenty years on some of their songs still operate their magic. Following in the footsteps of Prefab Sprout, the interaction of vocalists Ricky Ross and Lorraine McIntosh gave ‘Chocolate Girl’, ‘Loaded’, ‘Dignity’, ‘Real Gone Kid’ extra emotional dimensions which fitted perfectly with the nostalgic and dramatic nature of these everyday tales. They have temporarily reformed, have written three new songs for this new Best Of and are currently touring the UK.
