Super-stylised futuristico pop with electronic leanings and a smug, all-knowing smirk, that – even though you might hate yourself for it – you really can’t help taking a liking to. “The Grid” is all spikes and hip retro-technology references, and is actually a good stomp-along tune, whereas “Mono” displays a slightly more original bent, but still can’t leave those retro flourishes alone (credit though for working the phrase “polyphonic” into a rhyme). The second single from this Liverpudlian duo and certainly worthy of investigation.
