THE MACCABEES
ABOUT YOUR DRESS
FICTION

Brighton’s The Maccabees continue their feel good sensory assault into 2007, with another short sharp dose of fumbling young love indie pop. ‘About Your Dress’ sees Orlando quivvering ‘I noticed you, you stood out like a sore thumb, the most beautiful sore thumb I have ever seen’, then he goes on, ‘Do you recall the night that we first met, and how I burnt your dress with my cigarette’. As power riffs make you dance and jerk around like a geek on heat. Awkward young love hasn’t sounded this good since The Undertones called it a day.
