Eskimo can probably be blamed squarely for unleashing the whole delirious space disco/electro boogie post-punk/eclectic freeforall which started littering brains and dancefloors after its mix albums from the likes of Optimo, Prins Thomas, Radioslave, Chromeo and Rub N Tug. Anything goes and Belgium’s Glimmers were in there at the turn of the decade. Now they return after a lengthy and devastating trawl around the world’s dancefloors with a belter, kicking off with the Scream’s ‘Loaded’ and never look back through their dub of Shirley Bassey’s ‘Slave To The Rhythm’, LCD Soundsystem, Venus Gang and even Herb Alpert. Everyone will have a surprise highlight and mine’s Mac Attack’s go-go classic ‘The Art Of Drums’. But the whole album’s a series of peaks for maximum party whoopee, Eskimo’s untouchable position deftly maintained.
