The unmistakable sassy vocal of Millie Jackson and her Womack & Womack-penned ‘Put Something Down On It’, from her equally raunchy 1979 ‘Live & Uncensored’ album, is as fine an example as there is of the ‘70s queen of sleazy at her soulful best. There’s no X-rated monologues here, just Millie’s signature shtick set to a complimentary shuffling house groove created by the Deep Factor protagonists. And there ain’t nowt with that.
