Described as OM Records’ first lady, Colette returns for a second album of sweetly sung lyrics over classy beats. ‘Push’ shows her to have impressive versatility, whether it’s in strutting electro pop that Kylie would be proud of (‘If’) , smooth house, more obvious electro or even hip hop, found in the big widescreen beats of Black Spade in ‘Funny’. As a result the album hangs together well, the warmth of the deep house tracks complemented by the more sparky electro-pop excursions, with Colette’s vocals the trump card.
