DT8 is of course Darren Tate, whose trance pedigree can be measured from relatively ambient to full on peak time in his excursions as Jurgen Vries. DT8 is softer, more moody trance that spaces out but manages to keep impressive depth, rarely sounding cheesy or contrived. This is helped by prestigious vocal guest turns, in particular that from Mory Kante, whose ‘Narama’ is a fine, deep track. Nor does the album flag – if anything, ‘Breathe’, ‘Destination’ and ‘Tomorrow Never Comes’ are even stronger tracks that bring the record off convincingly. With a second CD of remixes from the likes of Lange, Max Graham and Mike Koglin, Tate’s latest long player is another winner.
