Tosca

1. Jon Hassel: Delta Rain Dream
I had a wonderfull experience watching an exhibition of Rene Margritte
paintings with this music in the walkman, some years ago, in the mountains
close to lake geneva.

2. Miles Davis: Fat Time
As he did not know me, I am sure miles was not thinking about my belly when
he named the track. 80«s miles, groovy, perfect while opening the 2nd bottle
of red wine alone at home in the kitchen.

3. Giuseppe Verdi/Carlos Kleiber: La Traviata Overture
Verdi wrote it, and kleiber conducting it leads to the first and only piece
of music that has the qualities of an x-ray picture and still is more
beautifull than the real body. The very beginning shows how soft an
orchestra can play.

4. Patsy Cline: The Wayward Wind
The unglamorous country-counterpart of edith piaf. The voice is pain and
beauty, and the song is kitsch… perfect for opening the 3rd bottle of red
wine alone in the kitchen.

5. Tom Waits: Heartattack & Vine
Something to say? No. Let’s open the 4th bottle of red wine alone in the
kitchen.

6. Frank Zappa: The Dangerous Kitchen
After finishing the 5 th bottle of red wine alone in your kitchen you get to
understand deeply the meaning of the lyrics.

8. Zap Mama: Abadou
Hangover? Drink a strong coffee and experience the impact of nice female
voices on a headache.

9. Tony Scott: Zazen
Another timeless oldie. To play so few notes and still create tension,
you should stop drinking red wine for some weeks…

10. Joseph Haydn/Alfred Brendel: Piano Sonata nr 49
The oldest piece on the list. Written over 200 years ago,
played some 20 years ago, sounds and is from another world.

‘No Hassle’ is the new album by Tosca. Forefathers of the nu-Balearic/cosmic scene Richard Dorfmeister and Rupert Huber have produced yet another magical and mesmerising album. A tapestry of analogue and digital sounds, submerged samples and live instruments; ‘No Hassle’ evolves and expands into an hour-long ambient symphony. The title reflects not only the duo’s laidback approach to making music but their whole philosophy of life. The retail album is packaged with a bonus live disc.
