The Brute Chorus are a motley bunch that met at a college in Greenwich, got a residency at The Hawley Arms in Camden Town, and ended up renting a flat in Whitechapel. Now if that’s not a recipe for writing good songs I don’t know what is. The bluesey White Stripes influenced ‘Chateau’ tells a tale not too far removed from Little Red Riding Hood. ‘You look just like a wolf my dear, though you’re wearing clever clothes, what great shiny teeth you have, what a hairy nose. A million things are telling me I shouldn’t let you in, you got a nasty glint in your eye, you got saliva on your chin.’ At last it looks like the UK has got an outfit that’ll give Jack & Meg a run for their money. If this got day time radio.
