Steve Spacek’s follow-up to the excellent “Spaceshift” long player, “Black Pocket”. Totally instrumental, it’s like a snapshot distillation of the musical history of Detroit, New York, Philly and West London, as the producer casually links jazz, soul, hip-hop and electronic funk, easing between each, capturing the audience’s attention with short three minute stories. It’s not fair to draw attention to one specific strand or track, as that’s not the point – the best thing to do is relax, give this space to breathe, and enjoy the resulting journey.
