Without a shadow of a doubt this is Sheek’s biggest release in his career so far. His third studio album ‘Silverback Gorilla’ is a well-rounded long-player full of some good solo efforts and killer collaborations. Eighteen tracks deep Sheek covers all styles with some real clever tracks. Take ‘Don’t Be them’ where he says don’t be like those other people just be you. He cleverly uses names of different names of different MC’s in each hook. Also feeling ‘That’s A Soldier’, ‘We Spray Crowds’ and ‘Mic Check’ which are all good solid solo outings. The Game, Bun B, Styles P, Jadakiss, Jim Jones, Hell Rell, Fat Joe and Bully all feature adding their own little individual style, and the production is real tight too. I feel Sheek Louch is one of the most slept on MC’s out of New York but surely now with an album as big as this the world will finally take note of this true, original street veteran. Make sure you are on the lookout for this album and peep his new mixtape dropping in Europe soon called ‘It’s A Movement’. D-Block all day!!!
