The Shortwave Set are a South London trio, that pooled their money together and went to Los Angeles to meet one of their biggest fans Danger Mouse. Where on meeting him, he agreed to produce their second album ‘Replica Sun Machine’, and from it comes the groovy psychedelic ‘No Social’, observing life with a swagger and a perverse view. If Mr Ben of adventurous fancy dress shop fame, had a music emporium, then you might just find The Shortwave Set doing their shopping there. Glasgow’s Optimo delivers a pulsing 4/4 driven electronic makeover, that should make even the most self respecting disco dancer, spin out and flail around rather awkwardly.
