Cut Copy return with their second long player, and whereas ‘Bright Like Neon Love’ had a New Order-esque vulnerability, this is a much more confident record. That doesn’t mean the ’80s influences have been completely cast off, but means the group sound fully assured in acknowledging them. ‘Lights & Music’, the recent single, is a brilliant piece of feel-good electro pop, with a killer chorus to boot, but in truth it only takes 30 seconds before ‘Feel The Love’ has cast the summery spell. Moving easily between straighter electric pop and well produced house, the Aussie trio have made an extremely strong album that deserves to be huge over the summer, especially as they will be promoting it on the festival circuit.
