New venture from talented UK producer Ghost and singer Devorah – together they make Lingua Franca. Devorah’s vocal style is strong, nuanced, classic soul in the vein of Alice Russell, etc, and this untitled EP – no track titles supplied – covers straight-up funky soul, futuristic electronic vocals and a more upbeat jazzy boogie track complete with mellowed out flute and vibes. Great debut, and they make sure you’re aware of their presence when they perform live, too, so make sure you catch them if you can.
