Mr Oizo
Lambs Anger
Ed Banger

The cover of Mr Oizo’s new opus is a cartoon of somebody taking a razor to his beloved Flat Eric, star of the Levi’s ad that shot him to fame eight or so years ago. It’s an example of its author’s humour, as he takes us through a breakneck 17 tracks in just over 40 minutes. The huge range of moods and styles takes in a heavier rock approach, reminding us that Mr Oizo was around long before Justice, humourous house that the French seem to do so well, and some rougher, off beat material that’s littered with clever or amusing samples. It’s an album where Mr Oizo seems to have cast off any inhibitions he might have had, with the idea just to have fun. It works, despite the occasional confusion over identity!
