French producer Azaxx shows off a well travelled record collection on his Tru Thoughts debut – hardly surprising, really, as Azaxx is in constant demand across Europe and South America for his dj-ing prowess. “The Exotic Delight Bay” is split distinctly in two – “Carioca Paradise” and “Happy Mango” throwing traditional South American vibes at a Bmore drumscape, both fierce and guaranteed to rip it up. “Zorbanissimo” and “Wild Strawberry Jelly” pitch the tempo downward with a mix of funk and electronic twists. Spliced, diced, and – even though it’s curiously minimalist – Azaxx delivers a big sound.
