Ade Fenton’s

1. Nine Inch Nails: Year Zero
After the disappointing ‘With Teeth’, this is NIN back to their best. Brutal.

2. Dave Clarke: Remixes & Rarities
It’s easy to forget just how many classic tracks DC has released. This contains many, including the beautiful ‘Affirmative Magnolia’.

3. Curve: The Way of Curve
Toni Halliday’s haunting voice contrasts perfectly with harsh industrial sounds on this great compilation.

4. Kraftwerk: Numbers
I can never get enough of this track. It’s unbelievable to think it’s now almost 30 years old.

5. Bjork: Post
Containing the amazing ‘Army of Me’, this album exemplifies Bjork at her bizarre best.

6. Gary Numan: Dance
A timeless masterpiece that never got the credit it deserved. For me, it’s easily up there with Telekon.

7. Nine Inch Nails: The Fragile
The nearest example of musical genius I’ve ever heard. Everyone should own this album.

8. Aphex Twin: I Care Because You Do
An outrageous piece of work. The guy’s production skills beggar belief and although many try to emulate him, he’s totally unique.

9. Skinny Puppy: The Greater Wrong Of The Right
Whilst melody may not be SP’s strong point, their manipulation of sound is inspiring for those of us who aren’t traditional songwriters.

10. Deftones: White Pony
Now rightly cited as a classic, this album encouraged me to listen to more rock music.
