Back To Mine with Grace Savage

Jamie XX ‘GOSH’

Production on this is next level. Makes me do a skank face every time. So original, epic, dirty and beautiful.

Frank Ocean ‘Thinkin Bout You’

Perfect tune for any hour. Could listen to his voice and his stories all day.

Frank Ocean Thinking About You Lyrics

Noname ‘Forever’

Just discovered this artist recently and love her flow and the whole vibe of her sound. Like poetry jazz hip hop freshness.

NAO ‘Girlfriend’

I could chose any NAO track to be honest but this one is Vibes. Love what Grades has done with the production – the use of space and big hits for impact.

Yebba Smith ‘Evergreen’

Another artist I recently discovered through her Sofar Sounds video “My Mind”. I think she has one of the most incredible, emotive and technically perfect voices I’ve ever heard and when she finally released a single I was not disappointed. I LOVE THIS.

BANKS ‘Brain’

I’m a huge fan of BANKS and her album got me through a tough break up. Love her dark vocals, clever lyrics and think the production is very unique too. My favourite thing about this song is how it slowly builds so by the time you reach the final chorus it’s just an absolute eargasm.

Solange ‘Cranes In The Sky’

This whole album is sick but this song wins.

Goldlink ‘Herside Story’

Discovered this on Spotify discover weekly and haven’t stopped listening since. Love his vocals. Love the vibe. So much trap and hip hop sounds the same tight now. This stand out to me as truly original.

Sylvan Esso ‘Die Young’

Clever lyrics. Great production. New fan of these guys. Love everything they are putting out right now.

SBTRKT Little Dragon ‘Wildfire’

This NEVER gets old. From the first timI heard it, I knew it was a keeper. I’ll still be listening to this in ten years.

Grace Savage

Epic, swooning and emotive, ‘Running Under Water’ is the follow up to her recent EP ‘Control Freak’ and debut EP ‘Savage Grace’, which caught the attention of tastemaker press like The Line of Best Fit, Clash, The 405 and Wonderland, describing her as ‘one of the most impressive artists in the game right now.’

Savage details the track: “I wrote this song with Ben Cartwright and Jason Julian at OddChild Studios and as soon as we finished it…we sort of knew it was a banger! I’ve been holding on to this tune for a long time and am so excited to finally release it to the world. It’s a song about falling for someone with depression and feeling apprehensive about the emotional difficulty that that might entail but at the same time, knowing there is nothing you can do about it as the love is addictive and the falling is inevitable.”

With a recent live session on Red Bull Music and a Metro London Introducing feature, the four-time UK Beatboxing champion, Grace Savage enjoys ongoing support from BBC Introducing and was listed as one of ELLE’s ‘100 Most Inspiring Women’; first introduced her singing/songwriting abilities last year through the release of her debut EP ‘Savage Grace’ – a production which was followed by a UK tour culminating in a sold-out headline show at Archspace in London.

Having performed alongside MOBO winner Nadia Rose at the British House in Brazil for the 2016 Rio Olympics, Savage was hailed by singer and Hollywood A-Lister Will Smith for her beatboxing talents, with the ‘Fresh Prince’ star claiming Savage’s skill “sounds like an MP3!”

An evocative journey hand-in-hand with faithful instrumentation, accompanied by an alluring and seemingly effortless melody, ‘Running Under Water’ marks a new chapter and makes for an impressive CV to a wonderful new artist.
