Kate Bush – Running Up That Hill
This track makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. The line she sings about “trading places” is so powerful…
Stevie Nicks – Stand back
Classic 80s track and a strong video to match! Interesting fact: the chords were actually written by Prince!
Todd Rundgren – Can We Still Be friends
I don’t know why I love this track so much. I think the lyrics are quite cool and It featured in Vanilla Sky which I can openly admit I like as a film. I think it’s nice he is offering to be friends!
Craig Armstrong – This love
Written by Craig Armstrong who must be one of the most synced artists of all time. So many of his productions are used in commercials, films and adverts, and you wouldn’t know unless you buy his albums. This is my favourite track from Craig so far. Incredible.
Frankie Knuckles – Your Love
Bit of an obvious choice but a belter of a dance record. That Arp will go down in history as one of the greatest! I use Arps in a lot of my productions, it’s a bit geeky but I can really appreciate how good it is sound wise.
DJ Hooligan – See You Now
A real gem of a track, featured in an early Tiesto – In Search Of Sunrise compilation. I must have listened to the whole mix hundreds of times from start to finish.
Madonna – Get Into The Groove
Ok ok, guilty pleasure! Love the groove and bass on this. Haters gonna hate!
Crazy P – Give It Up (Laid Up Mix)
Possibly the sexiest dance record of all time? If you listen to only one of my selections make it sure it is this one!
Jase from Outta Space ft Claire – Do What You Want
First heard this on a James Holden Balance CD. Wicked tune. There have been other remixes but they don’t come close!
