EBASTIEN TELLIER – LA RITOURNELLE
A piece of music, a song that will become a classic if it is not already one. We always loved Sebastien Tellier, this French romantic artist who lives in his own bubble. La Ritournelle is so special, so unique, it is hard to find another song like this! Definitely one of our all-time favourites.
M83 – MIDNIGHT CITY
This song is from 2011 and was the main single of the album « Hurry Up We’re Dreaming ». A mix of pop music and 80’s synth wave. The first time we heard it, the chorus was stuck in our heads forever. It’s a true masterpiece and definitely one of our favourite tunes of all time.
LIFELIKE – SO ELECTRIC
This track has been so special to us. We were quite young when we discovered this tune, we were playing it every month at a club called QUEEN in Paris, and “So Electric” was the track we always had to play to create a special atmosphere, somewhere between space and the 80’s, where people would lose themselves on the dance floor. No vocal needed here, lead and bassline are doing just fine!
SUPERTRAMP – DON’T LEAVE ME NOW
Another masterpiece from Supertramp, with the amazing voice from Roger Hodgson. This is one of the rare songs that can bring tears to your eyes when you listen to it. It’s so powerful and full of emotion.
MICHEL BERGER – LE PARADIS BLANC
We grew up listening to famous French singers like Daniel Balavoine, Jean Jacques Goldman or Michel Berger. This song reminds us of our childhood and the beautiful times of youth. Michel we miss you!
STARDUST – MUSIC SOUNDS BETTER WITH YOU
Number one of all the house classic for us. This track is perfection. It combines an infectious groove, a sample that is looped for 7min without getting boring and a vocal that will stay in your mind forever. This track is the perfect example of one song that can connect underground and commercial at the same time.
TOTO – AFRICA
If you have never heard this tune before, it means you don’t leave on Earth. And If you don’t love it as we do, it means you have no ears! This song is just pure gold.
MARLENA SHAW – TOUCH ME IN MORNING
What a special record for us. Not only because we used a sample in our recent track “Morning Light” but also because this is a disco classic that was played and created damage in all the clubs around 1979. Marlena Shaw is an extraordinary artist that did a cover of this Diana Ross song, and she did a terrific job! This will be forever special to us.
ALAN BRAXE & FRED FALKE – INTRO
A French touch classic, that we still play in our DJ sets. This crazy bassline tune has been a reference in the house music scene since it was first released in 2000. Thanks to producers like Daft Punk, Cassius or Alan Braxe and Fred Flake, French touch was the biggest electronic genre then!
SISTER SLEDGE – LOST IN MUSIC
To end our selection, how not to mention Sister Sledge, especially Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards. Under Sister Sledge and Chic, they created a revolution in disco music, but moreover in pop music, reaching the number one spot many times. “Lost In Music” is a piece of art, the arrangements and above all the lyrics are so on point, it is impossible not to fall in love with this record.
