Quite an oldie now but the marriage of Cinematic Orchestra’s atmospheric harmony and Roots’s deeply profound lyrics has remained a very visceral experience every time I hear it.

Early 80s boogie track which rarely leaves my record bag. Badass rhythm section and not a sequencer in sight…or should that be earshot?
Leanne la Havas – Unstoppable
Swaggy drums and bass, ethereal harmonic layers and the dusky tones of Leanne. Absolutely stunning track proving love songs can be uplifting and not just soppy.
