Back To Mine with D.O.D

After hours grooving at the best after parties on the planet

Joachim Garraud – I’m Invaded (D.O.D Remix)
My latest remix of Joachim’s ‘I’m Invaded ‘ single. Blows the roof of every club I play at! Getting some big support already, which is great. High-energy electro madness with a break beat breakdown, works every time.

Dog Blood – Next Order (Original Mix)
One of my favorite tracks right now, Skrillex and Boys Noize have absolutely nailed this one. I like to play this in the middle of my dj sets depending on where the crowd has allowed me to take it. A true electro/techno banger!

D.O.D – Headache In A Bottle (Original Mix)
My latest single out on Steve Aoki’s ‘Dim Mak Records’. It’s got a great rolling percussive vibe to it. Great for dropping at any point in a DJ set. Nice melodic, hands in the air breakdown!

Jewels & Scott Parks – Toxic Rush (Original Mix)
Flamingo is a great label and have launched some artists straight into the limelight. This track hits the nail on the head with peak time big room business. It has a Nari & Milani feel about the track and has been a staple part of my DJ sets recently.

Jordy Dazz & Dannic – Fuego (Original Mix)
If there was a track to describe my sound right now this ticks all the boxes! Absolute mayhem. Great musical breakdown with a ridiculous drop, and a kick so big it will rattle your bones.

Kill The Noise – My World (Torro Torro Remix)
Sweet dutch vibe on this one. Huge dutch drums with Laidback Luke style synths. Gets the dance floor moving every time. Watch out…Torro Torro is going to be big!

Beltek – Go! (Original Mix)
High-energy rave smasher right here! It has everything you need for a peak time track. Big hands in the air breakdown with a killer lead – One of my top tracks right now.

Craze – Selekta (Valentino Khan Remix)
This track is bonkers! Amazing acid synth with high-energy percussion and rasta vocals to top it off. I’ll be playing this a lot in my DJ sets in the next few weeks!

Afrojack – Can’t Stop Me Now (Kryder & Tom Staar Vocal Mix)
Great work from two friends of mine – This track has a Deniz Koyu feel about it and works so well on the dance floor. Late summer anthem!

Tomaz Vs. Filterheadz – Sunshine (UMEK Remix)
I love this record so much! UMEK has revived this classic and injected his techno style. If this is dropped at the right time, this track can do wonders on the dance floor. Such a great vibe.

D.O.D is standing on the edge of becoming an international sensation within club circles. Already finding plaudits among Annie Mac, Tiesto, David Guetta, Eddie Halliwell, Steve Aoki, Laidback Luke, Gareth Emery and Laurent Garnier, this fresh faced beats stalwart has also managed to secure himself a residency with Mixmag for their club and Ibiza tours; not bad for a kid who’s barely out of his teens.

With a DJ style that can only be deemed as inimitable, in-your-face turntable wizardry, D.O.D has managed to secure a wide cross section of fans with his music – which sets about fusing the lines between everything House, Electro and Techno.

But whilst his work ethic is familiar of yesteryears hard craft approach, his technical ability is certainly more forward moving. Positioning his musical style as ‘Jump-Up Big Room House’, he utilises 3-4 CDJ’S, DJM900 an EFX1000/Kaossolaitor, alongside his own personal edits and bootlegs, to great effect – citing the likes of QBert, DJ Yoda and the Scratch Perverts as inspiration for his style of play. This approach to the art of DJing has led him to share the stage with a whopping ensemble of peek time performers in the past 12 months alone; Laidback Luke, Eddie Halliwell, Michael Woods, Tim Mason, Nero, Calvin Harris, Annie Mac, John O’Callahan, Judge Jules, Chase & Status, Pendulum, Example, Riva Starr, Kim Fai, Kissy Sell Out & Doorly to name a few.

With his producing career already off to a flying start, D.O.D can already boast a 4 track EP on the UK’s legendary ‘New State Music’ which did the damage worldwide, gaining support from some from one the worlds biggest DJs – Tiesto. One of the tracks from D.O.D’s debut EP also made it onto the ‘Pacha Future Dance’ compilation album. D.O.D also nailed a remix for Dutch electro champion Laidback Luke’s track ‘Turbulence’ which has already hit over 1/4 million hits on YouTube. Moving forward to future releases, D.O.D has just signed a two track EP to Australian label ‘Vicious Recordings’, the label who made Avicii who he is today – Out at the beginning of March, already receiving support from David Guetta and Gareth Emery. He has also signed a new track to USA’s answer to a DJ rockstar – Steve Aoki’s ‘Dim Mak Records’ – Out in Spring. He has a remix coming out on Paul Oakenfold’s ‘Perfecto Records’ which is also due out in spring 2012.

Over the course of the next few months his schedule is packed with a string of white-hot club dates UK and internationally including Croatia, The Arches in Glasgow, Tall Trees in Yarm, Ibiza Rocks, A North American tour, as well as a full UK festival tour – A sign of a great year ahead for the 23 year old artist!

With enough tricks to keep the eyes as transfixed as the ears, it’s no wonder the world of rave can’t stop their clamour for him. Dance music is at its most potent when all about fresh, hungry and talented youth, and D.O.D represents that lust for measured abandon brilliantly. The dance floor may never be the same again…
