Solid Grooves favourite Blackchild is the next to land on Hot Creations with their Groove Dealer EP. The three track release serves up heavy-duty club rollers, moulding Blackchild’s early influences with a contemporary flare. Originally from a small island in the gulf of Naples called Ischia, Blackchild is the artist name for Italian artist Gennaro Filisdeo. Heavily influenced by his father‘s record collection, he grew up listening to Hip-Hop, RnB, Disco and old school House music. He began to produce at the age of eighteen, but it was in 2019 that Blackchild joined the Solid Grooves roster, which led him to play at statement venues and festivals such as Printworks London, Auditorium Torremolinos Malaga and ADE Festival. 2020 saw chart success with his track Sexy Thing going straight to #2 in the Beatport Top 10 Tech House Chart and #5 in the Overall Top 10 Chart. I have a good memory of this as this was the first 80s song I tried to mix with a house track, first time round it didn’t go too well haha but I got it after a few tries.

This song reminds me of the first parties I used to go to when I was 10 years old with my Mum and Dad’s friends.

This brings me back to my first gigs in Naples when I was 18/19 on the late night trips back home.

Probably the best beat I have ever heard in my life! I remember this track changed the whole way I see dance music, it was another CD I played thousands of times.

I remember my dad studying the chords and harmonies of this track in his bedroom studio when I would visit him.

This was one for the night time, when my Dad was off work at weekends he used to put this track on in the dining room – what a memory!
