Following a slew of majestic releases on Aventura Records and AventuraDeep since bursting onto the scene with his debut offering Obsession back in November 2020, French-Israeli TV superstar-turned-DJ and producer Joezi now looks to makes the next big step in his promising musical career, as he prepares to drop his latest shimmering sonic creation, Africa. Out now via PinkStar Black Recordings, Africa marks Joezi’s inaugural foray on EDX’s most underground-leaning house imprint as the burgeoning Tel Aviv-based talent pulls out all the stops to deliver the latest club-ready weapon in his ever expanding musical arsenal. Oozing sun-drenched, dancefloor vibes across its impressive four-minute duration, warm, afrobeat rhythms, intermittent vocal samples and bobbling percussive grooves provide the backbone of the record as Joezi showcases his stunning production values and further demonstrates why he’s been tipped as one of the most exciting young artists on the international house music circuit right now. We caught up with Joezi to find out more…

Hi Joezi. Great to meet you. How are you today?

Hello friends, I’m great thanks.

Where in the world are you right now?

I’m currently in Israel.

For those of our DMC readers that may be unfamiliar, please can you give yourself a quick intro?

I would love to tell a little about myself for those   DMC magazine readers who do not know me. I’m Joezi, I’m 34 years old and I was born in Paris, France. I love people and lifestyle. I loves the good life and I know that you have to work hard for it.  I have always loved music.  The music connects me to the emotion.  Music connects people and creates a connection between different cultures. I like this.

What were you doing before you decided to get into the world of music?

I was always into music, but before I decided to just be into music, I was into event productions, the big parties, I always loved to celebrate life.  I was part of the big TV productions in Israel. I always loved a quality audience. I surround myself with happy people always!

Can you tell us a little bit about the Joezi project, and when you launched it?

All my life I have thought about my musical project. But in the last 6 years I have been giving it my all and the project has started to take shape; from color, unique taste, creation from scratch and lots of hard work that has made me who I am today.  This is my life project.

What’s the vision for the next five years?

The vision for the next five years is of course to be on the big stages in the world.  That people everywhere will hear my music.  It’s part of me.  It makes me feel good.  I would like to leave a mark forever.

What sort of artists / styles of music are you inspired by?

My favorite music is Afro House. From this I draw a lot of inspiration. My favorite artist is Da Capo.

Congratulations on your upcoming single release ‘Africa’. Tell us more

Yes! “Africa”, my new track, is my brand new single on EDX’s PinkStar Black Records. I’m very happy to be releasing on this label, and I hope everybody likes the music!

What’s the rest of 2021 looking like for you? Do you have any plans to hit the road and play some shows?

You can already smell the end of 2021. It was definitely a year of prosperity for me, we will end it with a smile and a feeling of victory.  But hey!  This is just the beginning of 2022. I will give it all!

Any more releases coming up that you’d like to share with us?

At the moment I am waiting for the right timing to come out with a new project that you will know about very soon.

Thanks Joezi!

Thank you for the deep and good questions that definitely make me smile!  Have a lovely day.
