Back To Mine with Boran Ece

DMC are loving Son d’Étroit boss Boran Ece’s second release ‘Reprise’, backed by a remix from Mihai Popoviciu. First drop ‘Relance’ set the tone for the label, featuring in Spotify’s Lo--Fi House playlist, picking up support from John Digweed, Alexi Delano and Guy J, and selling out on vinyl within a few weeks. Hot on its heels, the Basel--based DJ and producer now steps up to deliver his latest single, ‘Reprise’ -- accompanied by a remix from Romanian favourite, Mihai Popoviciu. And to top it all, here is a masterclass in delivering a Back To Mine 1o…

1. Levitation – More than ever people
This song evokes so many memories in me that always show me my goals. I somehow ended up at a private party in Ibiza, the people had probably been dancing in the club all day after the long night and it was already the following evening. The DJ played this track 4 times in a row and everyone sang along, they were almost united with the song. I wish I can do it as a DJ one day.

2. Modjo – Lady (Acoustic)
We don’t need to say many words about the original. An immortal classic. The more I enjoy hearing the acoustic version while falling asleep.

3. Joris Voorn – Ringo
As soon as a little harmonic chord progression is played in a techno song today everyone is talking about “Melodic Something“. This song by Joris is more than just that and was done before. Masterfully produced, with the melancholic minor harmony andt narrative sequence. I don’t think it could have been done better.

4. Shakedown – At Night (Afterlife Mix)
Honestly…is it this mix from the guys from afterlife (tale of us) that first comes to mind? A question I’ve been asking myself for ages. However, this great version of the club killer is a loved one.

5. iiO – Rapture
Can you hear the bassline? Oh my God

6. Djuma Soundsystem – Les Djinns (Trentemöller Remix)
I don’t know anyone in my circle of friends who doesn’t know this track. It provides great memories of the long party nights at home.

7. Solomun – The Center Will Not Hold
I always stand for musical diversity. In Solomun’s last album and especially this song, He set the standard in his genre in terms of composition, sound and functionality very high.

8. Bob Sinclar – Champs Elysees Theme
I should have been the one who wrote this song!!!! it goes anywhere, before the party, during the party and at the end of the party!

9. Mental Generation – Cafe Del Mar (Underworld Mix)
I should have been born 10 years earlier. Nevertheless, I am glad that I lived it in its time. Such big tunes are, unfortunately. I would have liked to perceive such songs in their creation with my current mindset

10. X-Press 2 – Lazy
I sometimes feel at home on the dance floor. A great song, well thought out as a closing track at the end of the party.
