Back To Mine With Ece Ekren

Ece Ekren is a producer, singer and songwriter originally from Istanbul and now residing in Berlin. Her rise has been meteoric over the past few years, and with good reason – her feel for melding esoteric melodies and instrumentation to house and techno grooves has seen her win many fans. As her dreamy new single ‘I Feel You’ drops on Phonique’s Zatar Music with remixes from Bakka (BR) and Pete Sabo, DMCWorld goes back to mine with Ece Ekren.

Moby – Porcelain

Moby is one of my favorite producers, and I have a great deal of respect for his work. He has a unique ability to combine house music beats and piano melodies to take you on an astral journey.

Funkerman – Speed Up

When I listen to this song, it reminds me of my first time DJing at a club. The rising transition from break to drop, along with the sweep sound effects, really resonates with me and I love it. The tempo of the music speed me up and the crowd went crazy, making it one of my favourite house music tracks.

Sting – Desert Rose

East meets West, and absolutely, they are better together! This song inspires me to create a piece of music that unites two different cultures and blends their unique sounds and sensations into one.

Daft Punk – One More Time

This song brings back memories from my high school years, and I also love the anime video combination with the music. I particularly enjoy the sound effects added to the vocals, as well as the signature style of Daft Punk. This song is truly iconic and it never gets old.

SCHILLER – I Feel You with Heppner

What a beautiful combination of melody and vocals, combined with a powerful bassline! When I listen to this song, I feel something in my stomach flying away and get goosebumps. This song is truly a masterpiece.

Cher – Believe

I am fascinated by the synth introduction of this song. It represented the future sound when it was released and opened our vision to create tracks that were more synth-based and included vocals with Auto-Tune, which later became known as the “Cher Effect.”

Everything But The Girl – Missing (Todd Terry Remix)

What amazing lyrics! They give more meaning than they should. “I miss you like the deserts miss the rain.” As a songwriter, this type of lyric is always inspiring to me. Additionally, Todd Terry’s remix elevates this music to a club sound level.

Simply Red – Sunrise

Deep house grooves with Simply Red’s soulful and chill vocals remind me of summer and lovely breezes on the beach.

Sonique – It Feels So Good (1998 Version)

This music has surprises, starting with electronic synths, then continuing with house music beats. In the breakdown, the beats turn to breakbeat, with an amazing and powerful vocal as the crowning touch. When I listen to this song, it makes me feel so good!

Eric Prydz – Call On Me

Combining techno beats with house music vocals creates unforgettable music. I am particularly inspired by the moment when a song’s breakdown is rising before the drop, the sound pitch increases, and the song becomes even more exciting.
