Lane 8 – Little By Little
Had to kick this off with a Lane 8 track. I love the way the melody and the layers in this one evolve and keep getting more interesting and then it goes back really small again towards the end.
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs – The Distance
Really cool breakbeat type track, but when the lead guitar melody comes in it all ties together so nicely. Perfect for an afterparty.
Robyn – With Every Heartbeat
Heard Mees Salomé play this after me at Distant Beach and I can’t believe I had forgotten about this song. It still holds up really well, what a tune.
Ben Böhmer – Purple
I play this one very often, I love the groove and bounciness of it but the chords underneath are also really interesting.
ODESZA, Yellow House – Waiting Forever
The collab we didn’t know we needed – and they made a whole EP together! I never seem to get tired of this song.
Cubicolor – Points Beyond
The sound design on the chord sound is too good. I really love the raw emotion in the vocal as well.
Mondingo, Monoko – Morning Glory
This one is a real gem. Bit more downtempo but the lead melody is crazy.
Tinlicker, Hero Baldwin – Rebirth
This one always brings a nice shift in mood when I play it. Love the organ sound here and the way the track builds up but has that ‘keep falling in love’ phrase repeating throughout almost the entire song.
NTO – Note Blanche
I always love NTO’s moody melodies. I once saw a video of him performing this track live including the (super fast) melody on a xylophone and my mind was completely blown.
Le Youth, Oaks – Paradise
When you see a Le Youth track with a vocalist, you just know the vocal is going to be super good and catchy. Love this one with Oaks a lot. Has that sing-along energy.
