Chuck Wonderland started his career in the South of France between Monaco & Cannes and is now a very well-known name in the Dubai nightlife scene. He has played with several international DJs including Sebastian Ingrosso, Martin Solveig, The Avener and Bob Sinclar (to name a few) as well as major hip hop artist such as The Game, Akon, Rick Ross, Future and 50 Cent. Known for his eclectic mix of musical influences he also won multiple accolades including ‘BEST DJ OF THE YEAR’ in Timeout Dubai. We sat down with Chuck to talk about the release of his debut single ‘Free Like A Bird’ which is out now via Warner Music…
Hi Chuck, welcome to DMC World and thanks for taking the time to chat with us. How are you?
Thank you, DMC World, for taking an interest on my project, feels good to share with people.
Where in the world are you right now?
Actually, I’m in Montreal for the first time, I always wanted to visit Canada so now is the chance for me to discover this beautiful Country. I’m actually going to play for the opening of a new club here called Obsession, it’s a huge club who can attend 2000 peoples, they did a big room like best clubs in Vegas, I’m really excited about it.
For those of our readers that may be unfamiliar, please can you give yourself a quick intro?
At first, my name is Julien from Nice. I’ve started into the music at the age of 15 and took my inspirations through the retro culture that my father had. Experiences, failures and good discoveries for the past 6 years gave a boost to my motivation and then pushed the universe to get my first Single released with Free Like A Bird under Elektra Records Music.
So…how has 2019 been for you so far?
2019 has been so far an incredible successions of good news, good vibes; Free Like A bird has been released on April 5th and available Worldwide. That’s a huge step for my career as it has just started, so I guess its time to make this year more incredible every day, we still have more to experience.

You’ve just released your debut single on Warner Music, ‘Free Like A Bird’. First off, congratulations!
Thank you, it’s a huge accomplishment of great team-work too, it’s a child dream who come true, I can’t thank enough Warner Music and my Co – producer Sylvain Baudier for this amazing opportunity.
Can you tell us a little bit about this project?
Actually, the story goes way back like 6 years ago…Back in the days Larry handed it to me the acoustic original version of Free Like A Bird, after listening to it I knew already what to do with it. With Larry’s great collaboration we gave the track another shot and shaping into something groovier and more electronic.
Who provided the vocals for the single? And how did that come about?
Larry Lynch who brought his exceptional voice as I told you earlier, it was a great team work, everybody was in the same vibe and everyone had his touch on the track to create a perfect harmony, I’m really happy with the result.
