How did you get into electronic dance music? How many years have you been producing for?
I was introduced to electronic dance music in my first year of university through the friends I made that year. I’ve been producing for 6-7 years now!
You’ve just released your ‘Two Hearts’ LP. Can you let us know what the process was like, and which track is your favourite and why?
Two Hearts has been an album I’ve been working on for almost the past two years. I really wanted to take the time to discover what I loved about my music and to create a sound palette that would convey the emotions and stories I wanted to share. It’s so hard to pick a favourite. All the songs come from such different places and times in my life, but if I had to pick, it’d probably be “Worries feat. Koda” because of all the experimentation with sounds and instruments. It was a really fun and organic process.
You’ve worked with some great artists in your career. Which collaboration was your favourite, and why?
Koda has been a real treat to work with. Musically, he’s on another level and always contributes amazingly raw yet catchy top lines and lyrics. He’s a true gem.
We’ve seen a clip of your live show – looks amazing! What is your favourite instrument to play for a crowd?
Definitely the guitar!
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would that be?
Lana Del Rey has always been a dream collaboration of mine. No one sounds quite like she does.
What has been your favourite gig to date?
Electric Forest 2015. It was my first US gig and first big festival. I’ll never forget it.
Which festival do you dream of playing?
I would love to play Burning Man or Shambhala!
Any plans to come over to the UK to play?
No plans yet, but I would absolutely love to. I just started to work with UAA so I’m hoping to get there very soon!
