KLYMVX

The French duo continue their dancefloor rollercoaster…

Are there any French musicians or producers who you draw inspiration from?

To be honest, we can find inspiration everywhere and from everybody. When it comes to the French scene, it’s really motivational, to see all these french dudes like DJ Snake our buddy Kungs or Ofenbach, killing it everywhere! So yeah, we can say that their careers are a sort of an inspiration for us.

How would you describe your sound and how is it different from other house producers?

Our sound is a good mix between the new Pop and the Tropical/Deep House music. We don’t like to put a label on our face, like we know we make « pop » stuff but it’s our kind of pop.

Where do you see your music taking you in 2018?

Hopefully all over the world and on radio in every country that can have it!

How has the city of Paris influenced your music?

You know there are a lot of different cultures in Paris. We live all together in the same city and we think it’s beautiful. That is very inspirational, because in our music we like to mix every genre as well. So that makes sense right?

What music do you listen to when you’re not producing dance music?

We find ourselves listening a lot of scores/soundtracks. It’s our first love – we love the emotion that this kind of music brings you, it’s almost magical, man.

Do you see yourselves playing more shows in the future or staying closer to production?

Of course we do, but also we’re prepping a lot of new stuff so we stay close to production as well. We can do both!

Who is your dream collaborator?

We’d love to work with artists such as Ed Sheeran, Zara Larsson, Justin Bieber, Elie Goulding etc.. We see a lot of producers team up with pop stars and we think it’s a great idea. So yeah definitely these guys!

Who would you like as a mentor in your careers?

We think Calvin Harris and The Chainsmokers have the best career ever. So we’ll try to follow their path for sure! It’s a long way to go but let’s try!

What is the most memorable experience you two have had in music thus far?

Oh they are so many! We had the amazing opportunity to travel to the USA to shoot a music video, which was a fascinating experience. We’ve been to Amsterdam for the ADE too, met a lot of amazing people and worked with very talented guys as well. We’re lucky to live these kind of moments.

Why do you call yourselves KLYMVX?

KLYMVX is pronounced ‘Climax’. We studied in a Audio/Cinema school in France. We had scenario classes back there, and one of the rare time we’ve been at this class we’ve been talking about the climax which is the most intense, exciting, or important point of something; the culmination. You can translate it by « orgasm » as well, it’s up to you! We found this word so cool and the meaning so powerful that we decided to call themselves KLYMVX, the V is a reverse A.

You have collaborated with several vocalists so far, what do you look for in a vocalist and who would you like to bring on in the future?

Feeling is the most important thing we look for in a vocalist. Like, how does his/her voice make you feel, the ability to spread emotions. You know, as long as it sounds beautiful for us, then we make everything possible to make it sound good for you! We do love « airy » voices – you can express so many things with these kind of voices, so for the future: AIRY VOICES!
