Win 5 classic reissued pieces of vinyl dancefloor history
This month sees [PIAS] Recordings launch a new website www.piasrecordings.com which will give the user access to rare and exclusive content from some of the labels’ artists past and present. The website will be mirrored via a mobile app developed by [PIAS] Media, which also includes a competition based around image recognition technology. The app is available on iOS and Android http://road.ie/pias
The content – which includes rare and exclusive tracks, cover versions, free downloads, DJ mixes, previously unseen videos, live performances and documentaries – comes from artists including Mogwai, Sigur Ros, Propellerheads, New Fast Automatic Daffodils, Enter Shikari, Tiga, 2 Many DJ’s and many more.
The label has also recently been celebrating it’s 30th year as a true Independent by re-issuing some of their classic albums on vinyl as well as making them available for a limited period at a special price at www.itunes.com/pias30
“It’s great to be able to celebrate our achievements over the past 30 years,” says [PIAS] Recordings M.D. Pete Thompson, “but we’re also looking forward to 2013. I think [PIAS] Recordings’ 31st year could well be its most important yet, with key releases from Agnes Obel, Ghostpoet, Soulwax and Editors. What a way to start the next 30 years!”
Play It Again Sam’s growing roster includes Seasick Steve, Ghostpoet, Soulwax, and Andy Burrows who had this to say about his label’s birthday:
“Play It Again Sam are truly a label to celebrate, anniversary or no anniversary. They’re a record company with a real passion for great music, a rare thing these days. I never thought I could feel so genuinely excited for a record label but I do feel that for them… love ’em.”
