Ryan Blyth

Having recently signed to Columbia Records, Ryan Blyth has released what is tipped to be one of the big tracks of the summer – ‘Raise A Glass’ featured BB Diamond. Ryan was one of the first signings to Danny Howard’s Nothing Else Matters label with ‘Trust Me’ in 2016. A huge fan of 90s classic house, Ryan Blyth partnered with Armand Van Helden vocalist Duane Harden for ‘Back To You’ on Hexagon, followed by ‘Show Me’ which has been streamed over 15 million times on Spotify. In 2017, Ryan Blyth released ‘Special’ ft. Luther Soul on Spinnin’ Records and ‘You & Me’ on New State Music with Scrufizzer and Rae Hall. ‘You Can’t Hide’ on Sleazy Tech went to No.1 on Traxsource and No.2 on Beatport’s Top 100 House in March 2018. DMC took some time out to chat with Ryan.

Hi Ryan, we last spoke three years ago. What have you been up to since?

I’ve been busy making some really exciting music and working with some fantastic people in the music industry. DJ and partying lots too.

Congratulations on signing to Columbia Records! Your new track is called ‘Raise A Glass’. What’s it all about?

Thanks. It’s about two things: my love for a super strong sample (see if you can guess it) and the message in the song is about shutting down a player in his tracks before he plays you. No-one needs a player in their life, so ‘Raise A Glass’ and wave them on before the games begin.

How did you get vocalist BB Diamond involved in the release?

I played the track to a friend who loved it; they had been in contact with BB Diamond regarding another project and suggested we should work together. So, we connected, and the rest is history.

What things do you like to raise a glass to?

Anything and everything to be honest. There are not many things I don’t like to ‘Raise A Glass’ to. If it makes me and others happy, then I’m all in…

Which other producers – past and present – do you admire?

Calvin Harris, Chris lake, and Gorgon City to name a few.

What tracks are currently getting you excited? Right now, I’m feeling a wide range of tracks but here are a few: Michael Calfan – ‘Got You’, Weiss – ‘Feel My Needs’ and of course my new single, ‘Raise A Glass’.

What are your plans for Summer 2018?

I plan to take over the world with my music…… haha!

If you could play in any venue in the world, where would it be?

Probably Tomorrowland but there are so many other great venues and events I’d like to be involved with.

How do you like to relax when away from the studio and touring?

I like to work out in the gym when I have down time and spend time with my friends and family.
